Blackwell Chamber announces 4th of July 2024 plans

4TH OF JULY IN BLACKWELL SCHEDULE

Flycatchers, Fireworks, and Fun

The Blackwell Area Chamber of Commerce announced times and details for the upcoming 4th of July celebration in Blackwell which will be held Thursday, July 4, 2024.

The downtown parade will begin at 10 a.m. with the lineup starting at 9:30 a.m. at the Farmer's CoOp on Main Street.

The decorated bike and wagon contest will be held at 9:45 a.m, sponsored by Blackwell Tourism.

After the parade, there will be a free swim at the Blackwell Memorial Pool at 1 p.m.

The Trinity Lutheran Church at 125 Vinnedge in Blackwell will be holding their annual Independence Day Celebration on Thursday, July 4 after the annual parade. Pastor James Bozarth shared the details last week, encouraging everyone to come by for an afternoon of fun following the Chamber of Commerce’s annual parade which will be held that morning on Main Street.

The Old Fashioned Independence Day Celebration will feature a free lunch of pulled pork sandwich, chips, a cookie, and water along with a bounce house. There will be games with prizes by age group, an egg toss, a 3-legged race, a sack race, and a wheelbarrow race.

The Blackwell Flycatchers play at 5 pm at Morgan Field.

At dusk, the annual fireworks show will begin at the conclusion of the Blackwell Flycatchers game. Those in attendance at Morgan Field to watch the Flycatchers will have some of the best seats in the house, according to the Chamber of Commerce.
