Career Exploration Fair for students coming April 23 at the Event Center
March 26, 2025

Students across the region will have a unique opportunity to explore career paths at the upcoming Career Exploration Fair, set to take place on April 23 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is a collaborative effort between Blackwell Public Schools, the City of Blackwell, the Blackwell Chamber of Commerce, and Pioneer Technology Center, aiming to connect students with local industries, businesses, and educational partners.
This year’s fair has been revamped based on feedback from last year’s participants, placing a stronger emphasis on interactive experiences. Vendors from various industries are encouraged to bring hands-on activities or models that allow students to engage directly with potential career opportunities. The goal is to provide students with a firsthand look at the industries and businesses within their own community.
Schools confirmed to attend include Frontier High School, Medford High School, Tonkawa High School, Peckham (8th grade), Deer Creek-Lamont High School, and Blackwell (6th-8th grades) along with Blackwell High School. The event has already attracted numerous vendors, with more continuing to register each week.
Organizers anticipate a day filled with discovery, inspiration, and career exploration for students. Businesses and industry professionals interested in participating as vendors can contact event organizers at 580-363-2934.
A healthy Kay County requires great community news.
