Jimmy Lee McConnell

Jimmy Lee McConnell, 68, passed away on March 3rd, 2026 in Wichita, Kansas. He was born in Blackwell, Oklahoma on December 21, 1957.

Jimmy was an avid outdoorsman who loved to go camping, hunting, and fishing whenever he could, often taking many family members. He was a supervisor at Southwest Cupid in Blackwell, Oklahoma for many years. He then spent his remaining years as a truck driver. 

He married Tereasa Sroufe (OK) in 1985, and the two were wed for 18 years. Later he met and married Patricia Vonfeldt (KS) in 2008 and later divorced in 2024. 

Those left behind to cherish Jimmy’s memory are his two daughters: Crystal Burge (AZ), and Jill McConnell (KS); as well as his stepson, Taylor Vonfeldt (KS). His brothers Mark McConnell (OK), Kenneth Morris (TX), and Tommy McClelland (TX). 

He was preceded in death by his brother, Timmy McConnell; parents Leon McConnell (OK) and Maudine Morris (TX); and his grandmother Pauline McConnell (OK). 

A Celebration of Life for Jimmy will take place on Saturday, March 21st, 2026, 10a.m., at the Blackwell First Church of the Nazarene (218 S. A St.). The family asks that you dress casual, as Jimmy always did, and to come and feel free to share your memories of him.
