Blackwell Kindergarten Teacher Seeks Community Votes in National School Giveaway

A Blackwell Elementary School kindergarten teacher is asking the community to rally behind her in a nationwide contest that could bring thousands of dollars' worth of supplies and resources to local students.

Cassandra Diaz has been selected as one of the nominees in Simple Modern's 2026 Stock Your School campaign, a national competition that awards classroom and school resources based on public voting.

If Diaz finishes among the top 10 nominees when voting concludes on July 31, Blackwell Elementary School will receive:

A $1,000 school grant

500 Simple Modern water bottles

100 Simple Modern Getaway Bags

Up to $500 to fulfill Diaz's classroom wish list

After climbing into contention early in the competition, Diaz said she slipped to 19th place following the weekend and is now asking the Blackwell community to help move her back into the top 10 before voting ends.

"Community support is essential," Diaz said. "Increasing awareness throughout our community could make a significant difference and help bring these resources to our school."

Voting is open now and continues through Friday, July 31. Community members may cast one vote each day, giving Blackwell multiple opportunities to help improve Diaz's standing in the competition.

The contest is sponsored by Simple Modern, a company known for its drinkware, backpacks and other lifestyle products. In addition to recognizing outstanding educators, the Stock Your School campaign aims to provide schools with supplies that can benefit both classrooms and students.

Diaz encouraged residents to share the voting link with friends, family, neighbors and coworkers to maximize community participation.

"We have a wonderful opportunity to bring additional resources to Blackwell Elementary," Diaz said. "Every vote helps."

Residents can vote once per day through July 31 by visiting simplemodern.com/pages/stockyourschool or by scanning the QR code included in the contest materials.

With just days remaining in the competition, local support could make the difference in helping Blackwell Elementary secure valuable classroom resources for the upcoming school year.
